RED HOT CINNAMON ORGANIC BLACK TEA

$ 14.00

Description

Our Red Hot black tea is a spicy and warming organic blend of Chinese black tea, pu er tea, cinnamon bits and Chinese long pepper. Dry, its aroma is deep, complex, spicy and sweet. Brewed, it becomes even more warming and wintery as a cinnamon note dominates the bouquet. The burgundy brew offers notes of cinnamon, earth, chocolate, spice and (thanks to the Chinese long pepper) a slightly earthy note that deepens the cinnamon flavor. Lingering cinnamon sweetness in the aftertaste makes Red Hot perfect for pairing with pumpkin bread, cinnamon scones or cinnamon buns. This is a must-try tea for cinnamon lovers!

This tea is certified USDA Organic.

Your tea is hand packed in a resealable pouch at no additional charge. For an additional $5 you can select our new Black Triangle Signature Canister.

I will not reorder this tea. It had a great cinnamon smell, and it seemed like it would taste less medicinal than some cinnamon teas do...but the tea, when brewed, had an almost muddy flavor and smell. A coworker described it as earthy, but not in a good way.

Very invigorating. I sometimes cut it with straight black tea, as it has a strong flavor. Great if you have a cold. it will wake your taste buds up. Not for the faint of heart.

I had high hopes for this tea when I opened the bag and was hit with a blast of delicious cinnamon-y smells. However, upon brewing it for the first time according to instructions, I found the blend to be exceptionally weak. The tea itself was too weak to stand up to milk (I like my black tea with milk and sugar) and I could barely taste any cinnamon. The only aroma that really came through was the earthiness of the chinese long pepper. I tried brewing it again with more tea and leaving it in for longer (even going so far as to leave the leaves in the entire time) but it was still too weak to hold it's own against milk. The blend has been sitting in the back of my cupboard ever since. In terms of taste, I would give 1*.
I gave a second star because I received excellent customer service. After emailing my complaint, I received an immediate reply. I was offered a replacement tea to try as apology (the brioche tea), which came promptly with another sample (notting hill breakfast) and a hand written note. Because of the customer service, I would not be apprehensive about ordering from American Tea room again despite the poor taste of this particular blend.
