Organic Qimen Mao Feng Tea

The Qimen region of China is so renowned for its smooth, malty black teas (also called “Keemun” teas) that India’s Darjeeling region modeled their black teas after them. Our Qimen Mao Feng is characterized by a fantastically smooth flavor that doesn’t get bitter, even with longer steepings. Mao Feng’s wiry, charcoal-colored leaves are flecked with espresso-tinged tips. They have a delicate, almost savory aroma and brew into a copper-red infusion. The liquor is woodsy, syrupy-sweet, smooth and rounded with big malt flavors and a full mouthfeel. The second infusion is sweeter, with more woodsy tones, a sustained malt note and delicate maple sweetness. The finish is palate whetting and tingly, with notes of cocoa bean. This tea is certified USDA organic.
