From the famed Pin Ling tea region in Taiwan comes this renowned green tea named after an early harbinger of spring, the small green snail. Bi Luo Chung is lush and long in appearance with multi-colored green twisted leaves in tones of olive, grass and gray green all intertwined. The aroma of the dried leaves are reminiscent of hillsides in early spring and evokes the awaking of earth and the heralding of the seasonal bounty to come. The infusion is a melody of sweet notes of buttery vegetables like bok choy and spinach mixed with the slight tartness of dandelion greens. Fresh and verdant our Bi Luo Chung is plucked in the early spring and has an overall vigor and vitality that are unmistakable. If you love baby lettuces and fresh cucumbers than this is a tea you will savor.
American Tea Room is the sole importer of this Taiwanese jewel that was harvested by hand in limited quantities Winter 2011 and flash roasted to preserve its freshness.
